Close up of the Famous 1929 Heart Shaped Breather Hole

This one has a curious '0' imprint on it...not sure what that stands for as it's not an oblique...

Two of my Pelikan First Year Pens (1929)

Two of my lovely Pelikan First Year Pens, the first with a Jade Binde and the Second with the harder to find light green striped binde from later 1929 and 1930. Note the bakelite barrel, conical cap top, and 14 kt pelikan nib with heart shaped breather hole (the 1929 heart nibs were in fact manufactured by Montblanc) of each pen.

The Nothern Pen Show, April 2009

Top picture, me on the left with Andrew of Vintage Postal Pens, Melbourne, Australia and friend Wendy. Middle pictures are of the Northern Pen Show- the pictures here don't necessarily show this but this year's show had a really good attendance, indeed, perhaps surprisingly so. The penultimate picture  is of a working Victorian steam roller that was parked right outside the hotel- rather a bizarre sight, but most welcomed. The driver told me he was going to pop into the pub next (presumably not to have a beer when he is operating a steam roller?!) The last picture is of Jack, our mascot on the drive down to Lytham from Edinburgh. Enjoy!
